Mixed results in the first set of friendlies

The 1st XI started their pre-season programme with a defeat away to Sevenoaks Vine.

Tom Lister (82), Ali Raja (40) and Neil Saker (34*) were in the runs for the 1s, as they posted 214 off their 40 overs. On the bowling front, only Saker and Steven Hirst had economy rates of less than 5 an over, and Chris Wigley picked up two wickets.

At Llamaland, the 2s skittled the Sevenoaks Vine for 90, with wickets shared around the team, with Nick Harmer (3 for 19) the pick of the bowlers. Likewise with the batting, the runs were shared around as victory came up inside 16 overs
