Llama batters have all been firing down under this winter.

Jake’s first class record is now looking decidedly Boof-esque

Llama pros Jake Lehmann, Richie Oliver and Andrew Delmont have all been in fine form down under this winter.

Jake is fast making a name for himself, first with his heroics in the Big Bash League – scything his first ball in BBL cricket for six to secure a last ball victory for his side, the Adelaide Strikers – then racking up his second first class century (126), albeit in a losing cause, for South Australia against Queensland.

Having already impressed with a double ton earlier in the season, Jake’s first class record is now looking decidedly Boof-esque (see here).

In Aussie Grade cricket, Richie has been Mr Consistent, stacking up five 50s and a ton for Geelong City, averaging an indulgent 77 in 14 innings, while Kiwi Craig Cachopa has been playing primarily limited overs cricket for Wellington in NZ's pro league, registering two scores of note (95 and 49) since Christmas.

Hopefully we’ll get a few appearances from those lads this season and they can continue their form on the green tops of Surrey, though their services will no doubt be in demand at higher levels of the game.

One guy we’re guaranteed to see plenty of in 2016 is Llama legend Andy Delmont, who has had a cracking season for Adelaide University. Del’s racked up a highly impressive three tons and four fifties in 14 digs, equating to 788 runs at an average of 61. He’s also been a regular contributor with the ball (9 wickets @ 36), and will no doubt be pressuring new skipper Luke Beaven for a bowl!

Speaking of whom, Beavo has picked up 12 wickets @ 15 with a stingy economy rate of 3 per over for Kaipara Flats CC, and last but not least, twirling understudy Chris Wigley has picked up seven wickets @ 39 and registered a top score of 84 for Golden Point CC.

We're all looking forward to checking out their orange tans at the chilly pre-season training sessions.
