The VI-Kings were unable to continue their winning streak at Abinger CC last Saturday. Captain Chris Hudson set a sporting declaration of 241 after 38 overs and was hopeful of holding out, but the opposition batted skillfully to secure a relatively easy win.
On the plus side Chris Dahl and Kyle Haughton batted very well for Reigate and debutants Niall & Ossie Paul were welcome additons to the side. A very flat deck and short boundaries contributed to the VI-Kings woes but credit must be given to Abinger's top order who played their shots and put pressure on the field at every opportunity.
Next week is the annual Trans Mole Cup fixture against Leigh CC and Hudson will be looking to draw a line under events at Abinger to focus on bringing some silverware back to Park Lane.
