Burke graduates from Surrey age group cricket and its academy to join the Surrey senior side on her first ever professional contract.
Having been involved with the club since U12 age group cricket, Burke has experienced all aspects of the Surrey pathway. The 19-year-old impressed over the start of the 2025 season, traveling to Abu Dhabi with the senior squad during their preseason tour, and during her time on loan at Glamorgan.
At Glamorgan, Burke has featured heavily in both their bowling and batting attack, averaging 62 with the bat in the Vitality Women’s County Cup.
The right-handed all-rounder embodies Surrey’s brand of cricket, playing bold shots and taking the game on headfirst.
Emily Burke said “I’ve been around Surrey for a long time now, having played with a lot of the squad in the past, I can’t wait to see what the next two years bring with the side.
“Playing at Surrey has been a dream of mine since I was a child. Getting to grow up watching some of the girls play has been incredible. Now I’m really looking forward to working hard and contributing to the team’s success as much as possible.”
Emma Calvert, Surrey’s Director of Women’s Cricket, said “Emily has proven that she has the skill to be a very impactful player. She has worked hard and moved along the Surrey pathway. She is a real testament to the club and its strength in fostering young talent.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing Emily find her place among the squad, both on and off the pitch. I’m confident she’ll be a great asset.”
