Inspirational young Lady Llamas

Fingers crossed for two of our talented Llamas in contention for the initial 2025 England U19 World Cup Squad

So today we have a special report on some magnificent achievements by some of our young Lady Llamas. These inspirational young ladies are superb role models for young Lady Llamas of all ages, showing what hard work and dedication can achieve.

REGIONAL FESTIVAL AND ENGLAND UNDER 19 TRIALS FOR EMILY AND ROSIE

Two of our young Lady Llamas were fortunate enough to be selected for the South East Stars academy team for the Regional Festival held in Oakham (Leicester). The festival brings together the eight regional academies from around the country for three days of T20s, from which the initial 2025 England U/19 World Cup squad will be chosen.

At time of writing we don’t know how the initial selections have fallen but the girls performed seriously well and gave themselves every opportunity, Rosie with gloves and bat and Emily with bat and ball.

Regardless of selection outcomes just making the festival is an outstanding achievement and a great experience for the girls.

Well done to both Emily and Rosie, seriously impressive!

MAIDEN COUNTY CENTURY FOR CHARLOTTE

On Tuesday 30th July, Charlotte Webber, one of our young Lady Llamas who represents Somerset U15s / U18s, scored her debut county century as her U15 side took on Cornwall at Perranporth.

Charlotte, who also captains the 40 over squad in Somerset (where she goes to school), came to the crease with only 3 runs on the board and 2 wickets down, and steered her team onwards to 257-5, with a stabilising innings of 104 from 104 deliveries.

Congratulations to Charlotte on her excellent innings and to her team for the victory over Cornwall on the hottest day of the year (so far!).

SHOWCASE MATCH

For more inspiration for our younger players, we highly recommend watching some of our senior women playing. Our Women’s 1st XI are in action next on Sunday 11 August away at Ashford, or Sunday 18th August when they host Sutton at Park Lane, both SWCL Premiership matches, and both well worth a watch.

DATES FOR YOUR DIARY

On Sunday 18 August U13s and upwards will have their celebration of the cricket season, and hopefully watch the Women’s 1st XI match. Please look out for more information from your team manager.
