Check out the Star Players of 2023

For the unlucky ones who missed an excellent awards night last month, ably compered by 1s skipper Richie Oliver, pictured, here are details of the winners.
The most prestigious trophy, the Ellen Bush Award for club member of the year, was presented by the President, Andy Packham to Richie - this was not for his playing heroics but rather an acknowledgement of all his efforts off the field – the arrangements and presentation of the awards night being just one example of many .
For each team, there were three categories of winner: 1. Players’ Player (as voted by the team members) 2. Batting award and 3. Bowling award, both largely based on the statistics.

The Keble Guy Trophy for the youth player making best headway in senior cricket went to George McLoughlin
The Stewart Surrey Bat award for the youth player with the highest individual score for the club: Sam Bell.
To the best of my knowledge, the three Lewis winners are not related!
News from abroad: Seth McDowall has settled in at Essendon CC in Melbourne. You can follow his progress on Matches are over 2 weekends and his latest contributions in the 4ths were 3 wickets and 35 runs. He hit 50 the week before.
