Massey and Dahl star in a convincing win over Esher

A top team performance gave the 3s their 2nd win in as many games to continue their good start to the season.
On a sunny day at SAR Esher won the toss (I didn't lose it...) and decided to have a bat. Sri opened up the bowling for the Llamas (raising a lot of eyebrows) and quickly got into his groove, picking up the 1st wicket with a catch by Brewis at mid-off meanwhile 'Grubber Gurbutt' was bowling some unplayables at the other end. Esher's other opener was batting positively but was undone by Grubber who dived to his right, hung in mid air for what seemed an age and held onto a fantastic catch off his own bowling. The Llamas then continued to keep things tight and squeezed Esher with Cossey picking up a wicket in a miserly spell of 5 overs 1 for 8. McLoughlin upped the pace of the Priory bowling attack, bowling their number 5 and Sri picked up Esher's top scorer. But at the other end Olly Massey only recently back from holiday alleging he was 'rusty' bowled a brilliant spell taking 5-16 off 6 overs. Olly bowled a good rhythm and was unfailingly accurate and was well supported by some good catching.
The Priory fielding was generally very good (we won't mention the odd dropped catch) with a number of catches taken and we managed to build pressure through Fraser's intimidating keeping, superb stops (Brickers rolling back the years was one not to forget as was Grubber's 'save') and non-stop encouragement/noise from everyone.
Esher's total was 110 ao after 30 overs.
Sri and Fraser opened up for the Llamas. Sri managed 7 until he was caught off the speedy opening bowler. Fraser dug in and ground his way to 20 with the occasional flourish but fell to an lbw. Ant came in, looked in control and on for a cheeky 15no but succumbed to a catch in the deep for 9. Meanwhile Will (the better?) Dahl batted superbly for an unbeaten 53 taking the team to victory accompanied by Seth's confident little cameo of 6no. Will was watchful and patient and hit some excellent back foot shots as well as some imperious drives and it was a real positive that he saw the innings to a close.
This was another excellent team performance with everyone contributing - well done all.
Sunbury away are next week's opposition.
