A clinical bowling display by Priory 3's guided them to a thumping win and their fifth victory of the season.
A delayed start had little impact on a game that had been reduced to 40 overs per side after rain washed out the first hour of play. Winning the toss, Priory opening bowlers Nick Harmer (6-14) & Shayne Cossey (4-38) wasted no time in running through the Sutton lineup bowling the opposition out in under 25 overs. Both produced high class spells on a track that offered something for those prepared to bowl a disciplined line and length.
In reply, Priory quickly put bat to ball reaching the required total off just 8.3 overs. David Loft and Nick Rotsey provided the rest of the team with some entertaining stroke play, each hitting a run a ball 26 not out.
The victory leaves Priory 3 points clear at the top of the league but with Wimbledon, (last years champions) hot on their heels, the team understands they must continue to produce similar displays if there to wrestle the title from their grasp.
