It was another gloriously sunny day at LlamaLand, Captain Evie won the toss and chose to bat. However, the rest didn’t go quite to plan, lady luck wasn’t on our side with wickets falling early and continuing to fall until Lily and Naomi took to the crease at 6 for 30 after just 10 overs.
It was a fighting partnership, starting to pull the Llamas back, until Naomi fell in the 17th over when caught off a ball from Daisy Feast and was out for 23 (27) including 4 perfectly timed pull shots to the boundary! More wickets fell with Lily standing strong until the end 22* (41).
Daisy Feast and Emma Furness opened the batting for Weybridge putting on 67 runs within the first 11 overs. Unfortunately, our bowling line up, albeit neat and tidy, struggled to break through until Naomi struck again, paying Daisy back with a run out!
Naomi went on to clean bowl batsman 3 and finished with figures of 4 overs, 10 runs, 1 wicket. Sadly, no more Llama wickets despite a solid performance from Rosie behind the stumps (with zero byes) and another decision from the umpire that didn’t go our way.
Final score Reigate 97 All out (26.4 overs) and Weybridge 101 for 2 (19.2 overs) – enough said, but the sun shone and the pasta tea was a great hit……
Onwards and upwards Lady Llamas!
