It was quarter finals night at Llamaland v Croydon and in glorious sunshine, the crowds flocked in to see some serious high hoofing from the lads, who cruised through to Finals Day - venue and date TBA but it will be a Sunday at the end of next month - likely July 20 or 27, at either Normandy or Wimbledon.
Croydon had put Prem opposition in both Sutton and Banstead to the sword in earlier rounds but found Tommy Bates (4-17) a much more tricky proposition. Back from stag duties, Tom Massey also pitched in with 3-13, and Croydon were dispatched for just 100, which looked light, despite one of the longest 6s hit at the Priory in recent times, which hit the flats to the right of the Blue Anchor! In reply, although Richie was cleaned up first ball, Seth McD (29 off 13 balls) got the Llamas off to a flyer, with some devastating hitting; and then Cap'n George (43*) and the waddling Rory H (24*) put on 64 as the lads strolled home by 8 wickets in just the 13th over. Onwards to Finals Day – where the likely semi-final opponents for the Llamas are..... old friends, Wimbledon!
