An update on Reigate's travelling wilburys playing abroad this winter

We all saw super-Llama Jason Roy lording it up in the UAE with his maiden ODI ton last week – a massive day for Jason and Reigate Priory CC. But he’s not the only Llama plying their trade overseas at the moment.

Worcestershire Llama Richie Oliver has made a barnstorming start to his winter of Grade Cricket in Victoria, Australia with Geelong City CC, racking up 473 runs in seven innings across all competitions.

He’s hit four fifties and a ton (129*) so far this winter, and is averaging a Luke Haughton-esque 157.7.

Richie’s been a consistent performer down under – across his four seasons in Grade Cricket he’s scored 2665 @ 59.2, with nine 100s and a top score of 203*.

Andrew Delmont has scored 238 runs in five outings for Adelaide University, including a daddy 153, which means he’s averaging a very healthy 47.6 so far.

They’ve even given the whinger a bowl, and he’s delivered with five wickets at 31.6 at a parsimonious economy rate of 3.9. Solid start then from Del, and here’s hoping he adds to his century tally.

After hitting a first class 76 in October for Wellington in his home country of New Zealand, Craig Cachopa has been limited to T20 action, with mixed results. Plenty of cameos but he’ll be hoping to improve on his top score of 37 and get back into the middle in one of the longer formats.

Last year’s 2nd team spin sensation Chris Wigley is plying his trade for Golden Point CC in his first season overseas, and has made a decent start with the ball, picking up 3-81 @ 27.0 in his first two games.

The Aussies are yet to see what he’s capable of in the lower middle order; he’s produced just a handful of runs so far but we know he’s a sweet timer of a cricket ball and there’s a score in there somewhere!

Meanwhile, newly anointed Llama club captain Luke Beaven has yet to get going at Kaipara Flats CC, having bowled just 24 wicketless balls on what JB informs us have been some seam-friendly tracks.
