Harmer steals the show with a cheeky 3-fer

As the second team skipper for the day Steve Cross looked back at the shiny exterior that currently adorns the llama stable he could not have foreseen the mismatch that was about to occur and was left reflecting on an opportunity for some llamas to have a proper knock; but he lost the toss and Sevenoaks chose to bat,

Crossy and Harmer Llama opened up and soon had some wickets on their pockets. Harmer stuck in both his first and second over (wicket maidens) with the second well caught behind by Geoff Chay, Crossy having one of the openers caught sharply by Fraser at first slip.

Jay Patel bowled a nice spell of leg spin picking up two well deserved wickets. Shane Cossy was unlucky to have a catch dropped but picked up two wickets bowling some decent pace. Harry Key bowled a very controlled spell of leg spin and got himself a nicely bowled wicket. David Gent finished things off by bowling their number 11. Sevenoaks all out for a measly 90 off 30 overs.

We walked into the club house where everything has changed...everything but the teas. Same sarnies, same cakes, but new temporary paper plates.

2's 2013 MVP Kam Mirza and the welcome face of Fraser MacDonald opened up for the chase and hit the ball around the slow outfield picking up a few boundaries early on. Fraser was bowled by a good nut for 16, as was Wiz who was wearing his son's jumper. Nick Rotsey joined Kam and played some lovely shots and looked to be taking the llamas home. Sadly they both fell with less than 10 needed and it was left to Jay Patel and David Gent to knock the final few runs.

Crossy said Harmer was Man of the Match in a private message for his 3-19-8 but all the bowlers proved too much for Sevenoaks in a convincing display.

Thanks to Keith for umpiring, Chris for scoring and Jean for teas.
