East Molesey travelled to Park Lane for the 3rd match of the season.
They promptly won the coin spin and decided to post a total.
The Llamas were without B. Donovan due injury, but welcomed back our resident lofter, M. Hutcheon, who took the new conker with O. Thilo. The latter struck early with a genuine schnick-off to A. Raja.
It was then tough going for the lads with EM at 70-1, but M. Tahir (2-29) and L. Haughton (3-41) dragged it back with a flurry of wickets pegging the oppo back to 116-6. At this stage it looked like we should be chasing sub 200 at most, but EM managed to grind out an ugly partnership. One lad heave-hoed his way to 39 and managed to get them up to 211 at the break.
Having made 250 the week prior, Priory’s batting line up were full of confidence, but we just needed to apply ourselves.
J.Smith and A.Raja strapped on the boards and played some classy strokes to navigate their way past 100 for the first wicket. Raja batted extremely well to bring up his half century in quick time, but was then the first to go for 64, followed swiftly by J. Smith (31) and R. Haughton to give EM their team hat-trick.
We lost 10 wickets for 81 runs, with 6 single figure scores. We all know it wasn’t good enough, so we look forward to the challenge of putting things straight this weekend away at Spencer.
