The 2nd XI emulated the 1st XI on Saturday by lifting the 2nd XI Premier Division after beating Normandy by 89 runs. Winning the toss, Jonathan Gale had no hesitation in batting first on a pitch which has historically been hard to chase on.

Contributions from Fraser Macdonald (29) and Will Irving (27) supported the main scorers, David Ramsden (54 not out) and James Halton (48). Rich Stevens explosive 23 off 15 balls at the end of the innings helped the Llamas to 223 for 6 off 50 overs.

The Llamas were confident with their strongest bowling line up of the season that they could defend 224, and so it was. Rich Stevens was the most economical, with 2 for 21 off his 10, and with two wickets apiece for Nick Harmer and Chris Wigley, the writing was on the wall as Normandy were restricted to 134 for 9 from their full allocation. The victory saw celebrations mirroring those of the 1st XI, having last won their league in 2005 under the leadership of Steve Gibson.
