Despite a great knock of 90 from Ahson Bukhari, supported by 41 from Chris Morgan and 30 and 22 from Ant Ireland and Michael
Ramsden, 235 was not enough, and a poor bowling performance ended in a three wicket loss.
The quick loss of the openers was compensated for by a good partnership between Bukhari and Ireland (63). Bukhari was bowled for 90, the first time the ball had beaten his bat, having looked a shoe-in for a deserved to century.
Chris Morgan and Michael Ramsden's sixth wicket partnership was also impressive (50), but unfortunately when both were dismissed, the tail capitulated and the 3s failed to push through to a 250/260 score that looked like it was on the cards earlier in the innings.
The bowling response got off to a promising start with George Elliston (10 overs, 1-42) hitting top of off to remove an opener in the first over, but apart from an excellent 10 over spell from Nick Rotsey taking 2 for 35, the rest of the bowlers struggled for consistency., and the fielding left a lot to be desired.
Malden went at five an over for pretty much all of their innings. Wickets fell at seemingly important times which kept Priory in it, but a fine innings of 71 not out from the Malden Wanderers number six Raviraj Hariharan took them home with overs and three wickets to spare.
