Great performance from a young and unfamiliar Pirates XI led by Old Dog JB, who lost the toss but still got his way and the Pirates walked out at a greener than usual St Albans Road to bowl first .
Harry Sood and Sham started so well that after 9 overs, Osterley were 9-2, and they continued to struggle throughout. Angry Kyle and Young Pup, Ollie Harris then combined wonderfully well and the Spin Twins from opposite ends of the Llama age spectrum took 3 and 4 wickets each before Harry came back to knock over the Number 11 as Osterley were rolled over for just 100 all out. Some great catching from the youngsters and tidy keeping from Jake Pearce – an impressive fielding display.
In reply, Rhys was snoozily imperious and dealt mainly in boundaries, and dot balls – but he stroked his way to an unbeaten 50 as the Pirates strolled home by 9 wickets, and were happily eating their post-match tea by 4.15pm.
Bish bosh, job done, points in the bag.
