Match report
RPCC VI-Kings 125-8 (41 overs) lose to Stone CC 127-8 (by two wickets)
The skipper can’t really orchestrate the completion of a full match report this week. This is due to extensive protesting commitments in London and some sour grapes from losing a close one. Please read the notes he made in lieu of a more substantive narrative.

-Dartford is a hell of a journey for a League game let alone a Friendly
-Why oh why do some teams insist on a timed match even when it’s non-league? I mean, is a draw THAT important?
-The skipper tried to punish the oppo by keeping them in the [hot] field for 2 ½ hours straight. They were tired certainly, but not exhausted. Limited strategy.
-The oppo were worthy winners as we should have finished them off when we had them 5-62
-‘The Barnacle’(James Wilson) is a great bloke to have around and hit 47 and took three catches and drove 5 blokes to the game and back in his party van. #niceone
-Brian Burns didn’t fancy opening, but should have. Very tidy 24 on debut.
-30 extras is WAAAY too many to ship in a tight scoring game.
-TJ Cossey had a blinder and took 5 for 37 in 10 overs. Nice variation and determination. Went to his head a bit but hey, that’s youth for you.
-I think Jack Sadler has a great cricketing future. I’m just not sure the VI-Kings will be able to hang on to him for much longer. Leave off Gregson!
-something about a downward sloping run up is like kryptonite to part time bowlers
-There is a universal demonstration of body language when a fielder playing at Cow misses a ball that has hit a bump which then flies over his hand for a boundary. You all know it. You’ve all done it. You’re probably doing it now.
-Liver pate sandwiches and chocolate rolls don’t cut it for tea
-Whether you like it or not, when you Captain youth players you are their parent too. Keeping them hydrated and covered by sun cream can be a full time job.
-Never before have we looked forward to Mynthurst with such relish. After two away fixtures we now have a four game stand at home.
-Ultra posse nemo obliagtur
