On Sunday 26th May the boys (& their parents) travelled away to play rivals Wimbledon in sunny & windy conditions. Arnav lost the toss and Priory were put into bat. Seth and Harrison opened up for the Llamas, the boys getting the innings off to a good start with Seth making 35 off 46 and Harrison 17 off 29 with Harrison being stumped and Seth caught out. Jack and Will B then came to the crease and kept the run rate ticking over until Jack was caught behind making 10 off 25. Matt kept the score moving with Will and were going well with some good shots until Matt was caught on the boundary for 4 off 11 balls. In came joint-skipper, Arnav. Will B and Arnav put on 75 and batted through to the end of the innings with Arnav making 27* off 28 and Will 52* off 43. The boys finished on 175-4.
After a quick turnaround Reigate started really well in the field with James Cameron and Arnav both picking up wickets. On came Freddie and Will J who bowled well with Will picking up his 1st wicket for the Llamas. Ned and Will G were next on with Will being the pick of the Reigate bowlers with 4 wickets, bowling an excellent length. Some not so tight bowling (too many wides) meant the boys had to be more defensive in the field. Will B came on to bowl taking a wicket and bowled tight. Unfortunately Seth took a blow to the finger so the boys were down to 10 in the field which made it tough but the boys held on to get an important win to keep them moving up the table.
Thanks once again to the scorers (Dave & Mark) and umpires (Richard S & Richard L) - I owe you all a beer or 2!
