The 2nd XI Stats highlights for 2025 and the changes that apply to the “All Time Greats” are detailed below.
- Two centuries were scored in the season, one by Advaith Bali, who was comfortably the team’s highest run scorer, and the other by Sam Bell. For both it was their first century at this level.
- Whilst Rory Haughton’s “All Time” average slipped a little this year he became just the 13th player to score over 2000 2nd XI runs. Both Advaith Bali and Seth McDowall have reached the qualifying mark of 1000 runs to enter the list of “2nd XI Greats”.
- For the third year running there were no record partnerships.
- Toby Briggs took the most wickets in the season with 21 and that enabled him to become only the second ever 2nd XI bowler to take over 300 wickets. He is now on 315 but still 57 behind David Edge.
- The best bowling performance of the season was Jack Sadler’s 6-28 against The Old Rutlishians. This was the first occasion since 2018 that a 2nd XI bowler had taken 6 or more wickets in a match.
- No new bowlers reached the qualifying level of 70 wickets.
